I’m Luisa, a self-taught photographer based in Charlotte, NC. I specialize in studio portraits with a simple, classic, and timeless approach.
Many artists have inspired and influenced my work, but my love for simplicity and minimalism came primarily from my mom. I remember my mother painting the walls all in white and adding a few items that easily blended with the color of the walls. It might be why, when I started my creative journey, the idea of creating my images in my studio with seamless backdrops and simple props came to me naturally.
Self-portraiture was my way of starting with photography back in 2019. I put myself in the picture anytime I needed to test the light, know my camera better, and so on. Without realizing it, I found myself loving the art of self-expression so much that I used to work exclusively on self-portraits.
Nowadays, I work with self-portraits and studio portraits, keeping my minimalist style with a touch of creativity and wonder.
